Bobcats Smash Highland Rams
The Bobcats got of to a fast start, jumping out to a 16 to 5 lead in the 1st quarter. The second quarter was a lot closer, but Madison extended their lead in the 3rd quarter when they outscored Highland 28 to 9. To give the Cats a 60 to 26 lead. Madison put in most of their bench player’s for the fourth quarter. Madison played hard aggressive defense forcing 8 steals while Highlands defense forced 5 steals and 2 blocks. With this win Madison JV is on a 7 game win streak.
“ We are really playing well, we are moving the ball and playing good defense,” Assistant Coach Kurt Webb said
With the district tournament coming up in two weeks the JV Bobcats are feeling satisfied with how they are playing.
“ We are really happy with how we are playing epically because the tournament is coming up.” Head Coach Scott White said.
Madison’s win streak can be accepted to the great play from Freshman Nash Humphreys, who has been the leading scorer on JV all season. Madison plays Skyline on the road on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Madison has the four more games until districts, three road games and one more home game.
The final score was 67 to 37. Nash Humphreys lead Madison with 16 points. Bryce Wilson add 13 points and Kauner Eysser added 15 points of the bench. Colt Durham lead the Rams with 10 points. Kohen Tingey and Jonah Erickson add 5 points and Dillon Shaw had 7 points of the bench for Highland. The Bobcats shot 61% from the field and 44% from the 3 point line, whereas the Rams shot 50% from the field and 19% from the 3 point line. Freshman Bryce Wilson had 8 rebounds and Trevin Lords had 4 boards for the Bobcats. Dillon Shaw had 4 rebounds.
