Bobcats Destroy Rigby
Another victory for the Madison High School varsity voys basketball team against Rigby. Madison’s biggest rival is Rigby so winning was a huge thing for them. “Beating Rigby is always a game highlight for me,” Coach Schwab said with delight. Schwab also exclaims that 7th, 8th, 9th, JV, and varsity Bobcat basketball teams beat Rigby tonight. When asked who his star players were tonight, he said that everyone was his star player.
The starters for tonight’s game were Logan Crane, Tyson Lerwill, Braxton Pierce, Taden King and Eli Randall. Before starting the game, all of the boys on the Madison team made sure to give fist bumps to all of the boys on the Rigby team.
The leading scorers tonight were number 21, Braxton Pierce, and number 22, Taden King. Some of their shots were struggles because Rigby was very on edge tonight. Even through being pushed and tripped Braxton Pierce still managed to shoot well and score even while stumbling over other players.
Trying to score, Logan Crane and Riley Sutton pass the ball back and forth trying to get closer to the hoop. Riley Sutton passes the ball to Logan Crane without the other team noticing and finally shoots and scores right before halftime.
Taden King sees his only open spot to shoot. King sprints to the hoop and shoots, but in the process, he gets pushed to the ground. Unfair to him making his try an unfair shot, the referees give him a foul shot.
Madison switches sides. Logan Crane has the ball and is trying to shoot. Seeing that no one is open, he circles around the court twice trying to get the ball in the hoop.
With 5 minutes left on the clock, Coach Schwab calls for a timeout. The Bobcats are winning with a score of 50-30.
Rhett Hathaway scores and then Logan Crane holds the ball out to end the game. Bobcats win with an ending score of 64-43.
