Mrs. Dodd a new edition to the english department.

This school year, MHS has made various changes, including teachers. Forbes left the High School after four years to attend University of Nevada, Las Vegas to get his Masters in English and Wakefield is enjoying retirement from over two decades of teaching. This year we have two new English teachers, Mrs. Dodd and Ms. Withers.

Mrs. Dodd is jumping into her first year of teaching, but Madison isn’t new to her. She previously student taught with Mr. Wakefield, Mr. Snelgrove, and Mrs. Miller while attending BYUI.

“I Love Madison! I did my student teaching here and decided this is the place I want to be. My favorite part is the students and the sweet administration I work with. My least favorite part is the split lunch,” Dodd said

Withers has spent time teaching around Las Vegas and this would be her fourth year of teaching. She was inspired by her English teachers in highs school to pursue the career.

“I really like Madison so far, the students are my favorite part! The class sizes are a little more manageable here. It’s a different dynamic because Las Vegas had a lot more diversity,”  Withers said.
