The Madison Baseball Experience
Many students enjoy playing on the baseball team at Madison High because they learn many life skills and make great friends.
“It’s a lot of fun, and more people should play it. Some people think it’s boring, but it’s not, it’s actually a lot of fun,” Sophomore Stephen Haslem said.
Haslem encourages all students that are considering joining the baseball team, to take the next step and try out.
“Just tryout and work hard. There’s a lot of good coaches and good players that really just want to help you succeed,” Haslem said.
The current team gives advice to new members joining the team this year.
“Take good care of your arms when they start to hurt, like ice them and take medicine,” Sophomore Cody Rydalch said.
Students can also participate in fall-ball during the colder months of the year.
“I’ve played it and it was so cold, but it was super fun because we would play tournaments everywhere,” Rydalch said.
The baseball team also teaches students important life lessons and skills.
“I’ve definitely learned to be committed and to work hard at the things that I do,” Rydalch said.
