Students Preparing for the Homecoming Dance
It’s the time of the year that the guys work up the nerve to ask a girl to a day full of fun and a night filled with dancing. The Homecoming Dance will be on September 22 at the Courtyard.
“Homecoming is a fun way to get to know someone and still hang out with friends, you get a big group of friends and you do crazy fun activities,” Senior Ethan Parker said. “I asked one of my best friends with a big poster on the back of my truck so that way when she walked out of her house in the morning that would be the first thing she saw. And chances are she will be too tired to tell me no.”
Some ways to ask a girl out are pretty clever.
“I’m going to ask a girl by making a trail of Hershey kisses into her bathroom. Then I will have a sign in there that says ‘let me shower you with kisses, will you go to homecoming with me?’ so hopefully that will get her,” Senior Andrew Haws said.
Sometimes the way you ask goes fine, others, not so well.
“We’ve been best friends since 3rd grade, we’ve literally gone to every dance together. So this year I decided to ask her in a completely different way. I got a poster and I wrote, “will you be the best girlfriend and go to homecoming with me?’ She said no, so I guess you could say she’s not my girlfriend, still just my best friend,” Senior Ethan Worn said.
