One of our foreign exchange student has a brother who is an Olympic athlete.

Jonas Hablutzel explains a little bit of what it’s like to live with a half pipe and slope style snowboarder David Hablutzel.

“I don’t get to see my brother very often. He travels a lot and now I am here in the United States but I get to see him about every week”

With different people come different perspectives, even with an Olympic athlete.

“Honestly to me he’s just a brother. I mean I kind of look up to him but I’m not like ooh wow you’re an Olympic athlete. It’s just a normal brother brother relationship.”

With snowboarding like any other sport comes injuries.

“On January 20 my brother was doing a competition and tried out a new trick and landed on top of the half pipe and fell down. He was unconscious for about 10 min now his back is purple and bruised. That’s we he couldn’t compete at the Olympics this year.”
