Madison Presents… George Dyer!
Madison Presents is an annual event put on by the MHS Fine Arts Department. MHS brings in a guest performer who will perform with the choirs, orchestra, and band. This year the guest performer is George Dyer from Branson, Missouri.
“Madison Presents is a performing arts series that we started four years ago as a way to bring in high quality entertainment at a low cost and provide a fundraising venue for students who participate in the fine arts,” Mr. Busby said.
Junior Haley Hansen, a Bel Cantos member gets to sing a solo, and duet, with George Dyer, on the song The Prayer.
“I am excited to see it all happen and see everything tie together. I am really excited to sing a solo with George Dyer, and a little nervous, but I think it will all work out fine. I have never really done anything like this before,” Hansen said.
George Dyer has been performing, professionally, since 1996 when he made his debut with the New York City Opera. He is excited to be back for his second Madison Presents.
“I am excited to be back. I was here three years ago and did the inaugural Madison Presents. Music is a very powerful form of communication. It has the ability to inspire, to comfort, to make us laugh. It can take us through every emotion and make us feel differently than pretty much any other medium. People should come to Madison Presents for that reason. They are going to have an experience, through music, where we are going to tell stories, that they are going to recognize, and relate to, all through beautiful music that will literally vibrate and reverberate through them and they will have an amazing experience,” George Dyer said.
