The Man Who Keeps Computers Going

At MHS we have a lot of technology that needs to be maintained. When computers have an issue one man is always ready to help, and Bruce Taylor is definitely talented in the realm of technology.

“Well, I am the IT Administrator here at the high school, so anything in the classroom that is technology related I take care of it and so if anything goes wrong I know how to fix it or I know who does,” Bruce said.

Bruce is always willing to help with whatever needs to be fixed and even shows up to make sure everything’s running smoothly.

“Bruce is in the library everyday. We send requests when things need to be repaired and he comes, but even when we don’t put in requests he comes in and checks on us,”  Librarian Mrs. Thompson said.

Bruce has a lot of responsibilities at MHS and is always being called upon to get things working correctly

“I probably get called in, on a normal day, 5 or 6 times to various classes and to the administrators for everything from ‘My computer won’t turn on’ to ‘I can’t connect to WIFI.’ There is a wide variety of things that I have to deal with everyday,” Bruce said.

When a teacher or administrator needs something done that involves technology they put in a request and Bruce shows up to fix it.

“He is in here on a weekly basis. We put requests into a support/help document that goes automatically to the school district office and is then distributed out to the individual schools. He comes in for printers not working, setting printers up and if the internet isn’t working, and needs new IP addresses put in, he does that as well,” Mr. Busby said.

Anyone who has worked with Bruce knows that he is always willing to help.

“He is very pleasant and always kind and nice.” Mrs. Thompson said.
