Students Share Opinions On Netflix Raising Their Prices
As of October 5th. Netflix has raised its standard plan price to $10.99 a month from its previous price of $9.99 a month. Its highest tier plan is raised to $13.99 a month from $11.99 a month.
“I can see why they would do it though because of all the people that watch Netflix, but that sucks because I watch a lot of it and I don’t want the prices to go up because I don’t want to pay for that,” Junior Cambree Ivie said.
As Netflix is gaining popularity the prices keep going up as we’ve found out from this last price range. Current subscribers will be notified on October 19 of the billing price increase.
“If you think about it a lot more people are watching Netflix and they’ve probably expected it to because they’re probably just doing it for more money and in this world money equals happiness,” Sophomore Sadie Barrett said.
Netflix has quite a bit of competition with platforms like Hulu, Amazon Prime, and others they still have shows the others do not. Many talk of dropping the service, the reality is a lot of people will continue to use it.
“We went without Netflix for like the whole summer which sucked and there are some shows I couldn’t find other places so I think people will keep it,” Junior Anna Nate said.
