Plans for Construction at MHS Moving Forward
After the bond passed for the new sports complex at MHS, plans have been progressing toward construction.
“Right now we are working on the baseball and soccer fields. We are doing the surveying right now, and we will be installing utilities this fall, followed by irrigation and finishing grading, and then hopefully seeding, if weather permits,” Architect Brent McFarland said.
Though the main focus of construction right now is the sports complex, there are many different projects being worked on throughout the district.
“We will probably be breaking it into groups of projects. The high school will be in one of the first groups. We are hoping to build that in early 2018, and start construction as soon as we are able to,” McFarland said.
While the project is being worked on very consistently, many of the plans depend on the weather as we transition from summer into winter.
“We hope to be able to play soccer on it by next year, but it just depends on what the weather is like, and how fast the grass grows. There is still some work to do on it, but we are moving pretty quick,” Mr. Busby said.
