Students get to Hear from Congressman in Opening Assembly

MHS students had the opportunity to hear from Congressman Raúl Labrador at a school assembly this past Friday when he made a stop in Rexburg.
“High school students should think about the future of Idaho. I want them to have good opportunities, more jobs, good, high paying jobs, and just have a future that they can really be excited about,” Congressman Raúl Labrador said.
Labrador works with many people in many different places, but having served Idaho in Washington DC since he was elected in 2010, he is ready to return home.
“We have made some good changes in Washington DC. If I look at the future of Idaho, I think that I can provide good leadership at the governor’s office here in Idaho, so I want to come home,” Labrador said.
Labrador and Madison Superintendent Dr. Geoffrey M. Thomas have been talking about the education of students and their futures.
“They can go to college and that is a wonderful thing, but there are also some great vocational careers out there where they can actually succeed and graduate from high school and make good money,” Labrador said.
Having students think about their future, and Idaho’s future is an important thing to Labrador.
“I want every kid in Idaho to be able to live that American dream,” Labrador said.
