Project Citizen: Vaping
Story by: McKell Hancock and John Franson
The Vaping Project Citizen group, Eliza Schmidt, John Turcotte Beau Robison, Cody Hill, and Kelley Davies, argued that many people have been hospitalized and they want to raise public awareness about the dangers of vaping.
“I definitely see it as a problem in our community. It’s kind of scary how dangerous it is and how little is known at the same time,” Senior Turcotte said.
Part of raising public awareness includes gaining the support of the public, government officials, and nonprofit organizations such as no-smoke.org.
A senator has to introduce the bill which helps to protect citizens from secondhand smoke and decrease youth expose. “[Senator Hill] said he was looking into that a lot to adding that as a bill as a legislation,” Schmidt said .
