Valentines day Evolution

Junior Beck Ririe remembers Valentine’s Day in elementary and middle school, to be fun and creative, creating your own boxes and sharing your favorite candy.
“ I remember that you’d bring your own candy from your house, and then you design something like a shoe box, and you get to decorate it however you want, and then you usually cut an opening in it and then you’d walk around the classroom and everyone would put candy in each other’s boxes and usually some notes and stuff,” Ririe said.
Sophomore Jess Jenkins remembers Valentine’s Day in elementary school as a fun way to make your own baskets and eat your favorite candy.
”Making my basket and bringing treats to school, and then walking around and sharing my snack. My snack was Jolly Ranchers,” Jenkins said.
Junior Miracle Harden remembers Valentine’s Day to show everyone your appreciation by sharing treats.
“I remember it was a thing where you’d bring gifts for everyone and just show everyone that you appreciated them by giving them one either with their name or just at least with your name on it, and gifts for each other,” Harden said.
