McGregor Miller The Wrestling Maniac

By: Jordan Loya

If you are into Madison Sports, you know McGregor Miller. Miller is a wrestling star at Madison High School. He is a transfer student from South Fremont, with accolades like two-time state finalist and one-time Champ. He was a runner-up in 3A his freshman year and a state champion in 4A his sophomore year when all Idaho Schools bumped up a division.

As a junior, Miller is on a quest for his second state title, now in 6A. Miller has battled with a tremendous amount of adversity now his junior year. He got a concussion early in his season at the prestigious Reno Tournament of Champions. He had to medically forfeit out of the tournament after just his third match against the No.10 kid in the country at 215 pounds at the time. Imagine going all that way to compete for this terrible injury to happen.

Just recently Miller went to Weiser, Idaho, to compete in the 37th anual Weiser Tournament. Miller had a strong start to the tournament winning by all bonus points up to his semifinals match where he hurt his ankle very badly, barely able to walk on it. He later on had to wrestle his finals match severely hurt and ended up losing a close match with a bummed ankle.

Miller later found out that he has a high ankle sprain only two weeks out from the district tournament. Miller now has to battle to get ready for districts and then to state while recovering from his sprained ankle. If anyone deserves the state title it’s Miller. As good as he is on the mat, he’s an even better person.

“Heck yeah, you are improving each day I can see it; you got this!” Miller often says to his teammates.

Stay tuned to see if McGregor can accomplish his goal of being the 2026 215 6A state champion this year.
