Student Council State

Our very own student council recently got on a grueling nine hour bus ride to Moscow Idaho for leadership training and to accept an outstanding student council award.

“This is an opportunity for all the councils in the state to come and learn how to be a better student council for the school,” Senior Cayson Bigham said.

This can be a very fun and good bonding experience, but how do you learn to be better at being a representative and leader for your school? This is what are student body president took away from state.

“I learned a lot about being a servant leader and leading through example, and I would like to apply that into what I do,” Bigham said.

Some members have been in the student council since their Sophomore year. So what’s the point of going to learn about leadership as a Senior if you’re not going to be a part of the student council the following year

“Being a senior it wasn’t as helpful as it was last year but I did learn skills I can use after I graduate, and apply into my life,” Senior Abby Hay said.

Members do more than just sit in a classroom and learn about leadership during these conferences.

“My favorite experience was ice skating as a council because we got to bond together,” Bigham said.
