Should School Start Later?

Bishop shares his opinion and views on waking up for school.

At the high school this fall, Junior Cole Bishop shared how getting only a few hours of sleep each night affects his school days, explaining how his nightly habits and rest routine matter for a good school experience.

“On a school night I’d say I get around 6-7 hours every night,” Bishop said.

Bishop explained that the way he winds down before bed plays a major role in how well he sleeps.

“Usually when I’m on my phone right before I go to sleep I get worse sleep, taking a warm shower also helps,” Bishop said.

Because his routine directly influences his rest, Bishop notices clear differences in how he feels during the school day.

“When I’m well rested I feel more confident and when I’m not well rested I feel kinda empty and groggy,” Bishop said.

Students set their alarm clock only to dread the next day due to lack of sleep.
