Living in Rexburg, there are many winter sports that you can choose from. There is a big culture of snowmobiling because of the amount of snow that we get in the surrounding areas, like Island Park, Palisades, and Moody.

Many students have lots of fun snowmobiling during winter and especially on Christmas break

“I own a 2014 Polaris RMK, and it is a blast to ride,” Russell Albaugh said.

Whether students own a brand new sled or a snowmachine from the 90’s, it is a winter sport that connects many people and builds many friendships.

“I’ve been snowmobiling for about 3 years, and it’s been the best three winters of my life,” Albaugh said

Snowmobiling is a hobby that is moderately easy to get into, as you can buy a 20 year old snowmobile for 500 bucks on Marketplace, and learn a little bit about mechanics too.

On the other hand there are very experienced snowmobilers that can purchase new snowmobiles upwards of 20 grand.

“If I could have any snowmobile, I would want a new Polaris 850 Boost,” Albaugh said.

Snowmobiling is right around the corner, and people are preparing for the snow. Snowmobiling is a very fun way to spend the long and dreadful Rexburg winters.
