Old Disney VS New Disney

Newer Disney movies aren’t always accepted the same way as the classics, and there are a few reasons why. A lot of people grew up with the older films like The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, so those movies hold a special place in their hearts. They’re filled with nostalgia, and anything different can feel like it’s replacing something important from childhood. That’s why newer movies get mixed reactions.

The animation style has also changed. Older movies were hand-drawn, which gave them a warm, artistic feel. Today’s movies use computer animation, which looks amazing but can feel less personal to some people. The music is different too. Classics had unforgettable songs that people still sing today. New songs are catchy, but they don’t always stick in the same way.

“Before, it was something completely new, versus now, it’s a popular medium, and shown to a much wider audience,” Mr. Snelgrove said,

Overall, it’s not that new Disney is worse—it’s just different. Some people love the fresh ideas and modern characters, while others miss the magic of the past. Disney is evolving, and even though not everyone accepts the changes right away, it’s still creating stories that matter.

“ I feel like the older ones just did a better job of teaching a good lesson,” Junior Eden Hale said.
