The Pizza Debate Continues

The biggest controversy of the century. A topic so widely disagreed on and so incredibly controversial few dare speak of it, but a few brave souls find the courage to speak their minds. Students are finally free to speak their minds: Should pineapple be on pizza.
“I believe that pineapples should not go on pizza,” Senior Ayden Ita said.
He was very firm on this point, going even so far as to say it was offensive especially when they call it Hawaiian.
“I am a Polynesian and, you know, people putting pineapple on pizza and trying to say that it’s now Hawaiian! Just stop being racist! Just because it’s pineapple doesn’t mean it’s Hawaiian!” Ita said.
But of course as with most hot topics there are two sides. For some, pineapple holds nostalgic memories.
“I would say it’s really good, and tasty. When I was really small, and I was eating pizza, I didn’t like pepperoni, because it was too spicy. Also, when I was little I really loved pineapple,” Senior Sawyer Jenkins said.
Despite the passionate argument between the two sides, compromises can be found. For Ita removing the label Hawaiian changes everything.
“Have your own opinion, you know, if you think it tastes good, then it’s okay,” Ita said.
Jenkins extends the olive branch of peace and encourages the opposition to have an open mind.
“It’s really good. [Everyone] should try it sometime,” Jenkins said.
