Cheating Doesn’t Add Up: A Math Teacher’s Take

Cheating might seem like a shortcut, but according to Mrs. Barrett, a math teacher at our school, it’s a dead end.
“I would say probably just copying the answer key,” Barrett said when asked about the worst way she’s seen students cheat.
Teachers got their degrees in teaching, and can easily see when you are cheating.
“When they just write it down because it’s so easy to catch them because there is no work,” Barrett said.
It’s not just about getting caught—it’s about what students miss when they cheat.
“I don’t think cheating helps students learn,” said Barrett
