Where did all the boys go?

With Homecoming over, students are beginning to ask an age-old question: why aren’t more guys stepping up and asking girls to go to the dance? Even with tradition, plenty of interest and the perfect excuse to dress-up and dance the night away, a few girls are still being left on the dock awaiting the boat.
“I feel like the guys definitely try if they’re interested in a girl, there’s always girls that don’t get asked,” senior Ruth Garmond said.
With the dance just days past, it seems tensions got a bit high. Girls like Garmond was completely okay going alone but they always feel like they would prefer to wait for someone to ask. But what if she got asked really close to the dance?
“I’d probably say yeah,” Garmond said.
Still, not everyone is sold on going by yourself. Between the price of a ticket and the vibe of a semi-formal dance, some students are questioning whether it is even worth it.
“I don’t think dances are worth it,” Garmond said. “It’s forty dollars just to mash pit.”
