Prom is approaching and that brings “Farewell Week”. The seniors are anxiously counting down the days until the party begins. Student council has been preparing for Prom and Farewell Week for months. These fun events begin on April Twenty-Eighth and go till March third.

The events of Farewell week go as follows:

April, 28- Movie in the Fieldhouse

April, 29- Senior Bonfire and Night Games

April, 30- Dugout Dudes and Chalk Wars

May, 1- Mud Volleyball and Lantern Ceremony

May, 2- Battle of the Bands

May, 3- Senior Prom

From picking dresses for Prom to practicing for the Battle of the Bands, students can’t wait for these events to begin.

“I am most excited for the lantern ceremony because it is so beautiful,” Senior Estee Harrop said.

Some participants have ideas of their own to improve farewell week.

“If I could pick a farewell week event I would make it a butterfly send off. Everyone would receive a butterfly in a little box and everyone opens it at the same time. They would all fly away and make for a beautiful scene,” Harrop said.

Seniors are especially anticipating their final fun week of High School.

“I am looking forward to spending time with friends, doing fun activities and making lasting memories for the last portion of High School,” Senior Adilyn Holdaway said.

Farewell week gets people excited for Prom and one step closer to Graduation.

“After Graduation I am leaving to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,” Holdaway said.
