As the school year comes to an end, Student body president Katherine Pulsipher looks back on the good times she’s had in student council. Let’s start at the very beginning of her student council journey. The inspirations behind it all.

“I was in the student council last year and it was so much fun being involved in the school and with all the people I met. I had so many ideas that I wanted to do next year,” Senor Katherine Pulsipher said.

When she had the chance to implement those ideas she got right to work. One of those things is coming up soon and will take place during farewell week.

“This year I really wanted to do a senior bonfire for seniors to wear something that represents what they’re gonna be doing in the fall since we didn’t have a homecoming bonfire,” Pulsipher said.

As she has spent her time in student council, she has had the opportunity to gain greater leadership skills.

“I feel a lot more confident in leading though it wasn’t really a ton of leading, we all just work together and I have just figured out how to work with people in that way,” Pulsipher said.

With her leadership skills that she gained she has a piece of advice for a future student body president.

“It’s hard to lead people if you don’t know them. You really need to get out there and meet people. I want to try and connect with people,” Pulsipher said.

In the end, despite all the work and early mornings, she has found that it is worth it. This is what has made it worth it for her.

“The thing that makes it worth it for me is the people. I love everyone in the school and in the council. Just working together, brainstorming new things and new projects that we can be proud of together,” Pulsipher said.
