4 New State Trophies at Madison

Cheer trophies won at state

Madison athletics had an awesome year of sports, taking home an astonishing four new state trophies to put in the case. The teams that took home trophies at the state competitions were Cheerleading (2nd), Wrestling (3rd), Girls basketball (3rd), and Boys basketball (4th). We asked a few of the members of these teams about how they felt about their state placements. 

 

“We had some rough points but pushed through as a team. I think second is what we deserved, we worked hard,” Cheerleader Elli Freeman said. 

 

The whole wrestling team was able to take home a trophy after a season of hard work. 

 

“We performed really well, and it feels truly amazing to see the outcome,” Wrestler Ace Ingram said. 

 

Madison’s girls basketball team rose to the occasion taking home third place after a few seasons of not placing.

 

“I feel really good about it, we haven’t brought home something in a really long time,” Girls basketball player Sloane Humphrey said. 

 

Boys basketball was able to perform great and have some fun.

 

“It was cool, I’m glad with how it turned out and it was fun,” Boys basketball player Rhett Hammond said.
