Madison girl’s basketball is on the rise. The Lady Bobcats are currently going 12-7 while ranking No.10 in the Idaho 6A division. One of the biggest attributes of Madison’s current winning success is 6 outstanding seniors: #23 Maggie Anderson, #10 Nora Waddoups, #32 Emily Stoeber, #20 Jocelynn Jephson, #31 Sloane Ellingford and #1 Laci Hymas. These girls have taken on multiple teams in high-intensity games throughout the 2025 season to help the Bobcats win big.

Two out of three starting seniors Anderson and Waddoups average over 13 points a game and lead the Bobcats on the floor as team leaders.

Basketball has had a big impact on all these girls.

Ellingford said, “I’ve played basketball for as long as I can remember.”

Multiple other seniors saying that they have been playing since elementary school. Basketball truly means the world to them.

When asked about the end-of-the-season goals for the seniors they all answered with the same thing, “go to state.” These successful seniors all have the same goal to make it to state, perform well, and place high.

When asked about their favorite memory, Jocelynn Jephson said, “My favorite memory is from the last season being pulled up to state with the varsity team as a junior on JV.”

“Making it to state last year for the first time in multiple years for this program,” Maggie described, “was my favorite memory.”

And “going to state last year was for sure mine,” says Stoeber.

From every single senior interviewed they all spoke profoundly of the idea of going to the Boise Ford Center state competition and how much of an impact it has for them as a player and their team. Over the last couple of years, the Madison girls program struggled to make it to the state basketball championships until last season. All 6 seniors from the 2025 season were on the 2024 state team last year. These Lady Bobcats performed to their best abilities and placed in the top 10 in Idaho 5A for 2024. This season, with high hopes in mind these 6 strong seniors want to prove who they are and continue to keep progressing until the prominent 6A Idaho state championships scheduled for late February.
