BabyTron aka “Mario” is arguably one of the best rappers in the game right now, and
that is due to his different style, clever wordplay, and output. He has this speedy,
smooth flow that can ride any beat and keep the listeners hooked. He’s quick with
delivery, but each line is clear and full of meaning, showing just how technically capable he is.
Another reason why BabyTron stands out is his wordplay. He has this way of
putting together humor, references to pop culture, and real-life experiences into his
lyrics that keep him relevant and current to his audiences.
One great example of his wordplay is from the line from the song “Out on Bond” which
says, “All my mans around me fresh like next year we in tenth grade.” This line is so
beautiful and complex because if you break it down it is mind blowing. Basically what do
you call a 9th grader in the terms used in the USA, a “freshman”. Saying all my men are
fresh “freshman” like next year we in 10th grade. If you get it then you get it. It is a little
bit of a brain teaser but you just have to think a little harder to understand it and once
you do it is like a reward which is why Babytron is such a crazy artist.
Besides wordplay, the most impressive thing that actually elevates him is the
genuineness of BabyTron. He truly reps his city, Detroit, and whatever’s gone down in it
whenever he drops a song, probably because this dude has a hometown
connection-which connects back to experiences and feels relatable. In any case, it’s all
summed up with this peculiar flow, really catchy bars, and heavy output–why BabyTron
is widely considered the best rapper these days.
