Quarterfinal Magic
The Madison Bobcats took down the Capital Golden Eagles 46-38 in the first round of state playoffs setting up a rematch against Owyhee on Friday.
“It feels good, survive and advance, get a big one tomorrow, gotta stay locked in,” Junior Nash Humpherys said.
Senior Berrett Wilson stood out in today’s game with 27 points and 10 rebounds. “They were way focused on Nash more than me, so I knew that with Nash having all the attention I would be able to go to work but also just my teammates trusting me and I trusted them and we worked well as a team, we’re a family really,” Wilson said.
The Bobcats play against top seeded Owyhee tomorrow at 5:00 in the semifinal game.
“Just got to bring the fight to them and just make the easy play, make the right decisions,” Humpherys said.
Last time these two teams met Owyhee couldn’t miss a shot and the Bobcats lost, now the Bobcats have been on a roll when it comes to defense and look to shut down Liam Campbell and Owyhee. “We can defend pretty well so we’re just going to be us on defense,” Coach Shane Humpherys said.
