Madison Hopes To Keep Win Streak In Tough Matchup
The Madison’s Boys Basketball team has a winning streak of nine games and they hope to make it ten
against the Pocatello Thunder. The game is on Friday at home. Pocatello is 14-3 overall and Madison is
13-2. Pocatello was in the 4A State Championship last year and lost to Hillcrest 62-58. The Thunder’s
best player is Boise State commit Julian Bowie. “It will be a big challenge for us to guard him, but I think
we can do it,” Madison’s Carter Lerwill said.
Madison has been waiting for this important game. “It’s a huge game for us because of the
MaxPreps rankings,” Forward Berrett Wilson said. Pocatello is ranked 5 and Madison is just ahead of
them at 4.
Shooting Guard Carter Lerwill was asked how the team is preparing for this important and big game, he
said, “We have a great coach that studies our opponents and gives us a great gameplan.”
Madison has momentum going into this game. They’re coming off an 89-35 win against the Bonneville Bees.
