The End To Fall Sports
By Izzy Bird
Our Madison High Seniors are nearing the end of their final season playing their favorite fall sports, and as they recount their good memories, nostalgia’s in the air.
“I play soccer because it’s a lot of fun. It’s a creative sport, and you improvise and there’s no set plays or anything and you get to make new friends in other schools and in yours,” Senior Cail Chandler said.
Soccer is a great sport, you move around and it takes a lot of footwork. Although, there is one sport that takes little mobility, and is played with just your hands. Golf.
“I feel pretty sad to see it go. It was the only sport I did in high school so not having that anymore is pretty tough but I’m happy because I’ll always be able to have super fun memories I made,” Senior Mason Dorman said.
Now let’s move indoors, onto the court. This year Madison Volleyball only had one Senior on its team, but working harder than ever, they are on their way to the state championships.
“I’m really sad the season is ending because it’s my senior year and the end of my high school volleyball career. I’ve made so many friends and relationships through volleyball and I’m so grateful for that. I’m grateful for all the memories that I’ve made. I’m sad that I wont have volleyball to look forward to every day, and that I won’t be making any new memories with this team,“ Senior Ashley Garner said.
We can’t forget that last fall sport, a fan favorite, under the Friday Night Lights. Football is a great game to go watch with your friends while cheering on the school.
“It’s sad, I might not have any more left, it might be my last game ever. I may never play football again, but I guess we’ll see what happens” Senior Elijah Withers said.
