The Semi-Final Shootout
The Madison Bobcats lost 58-49 against the Lake City Timberwolves. Going into this game the Timberwolves were 24-0 and their closest game all season was a 12 point win.
The whole game was close but at the end of the first half the Madison Bobcats went on a 9-1 run over the Timberwolves to only be down by 3 going into the second half.
In the 4th quarter Lake City got to a 9 point lead and held on to that for the rest of the game defeating the Bobcats.
Nash Humpherys was the leading scorer for the Bobcats with 19 points.
“I think we all gave it our all, I think we all thought we were going to win that game,” Nash Humpherys said.
After the game a lot of Lake City coaches were talking about how Madison is one of the toughest teams they have played all season.
“I loved our effort. They didn’t give up. It’s a battle, they played hard and the boys were tough,” coach Shane Humpherys said.
With today’s loss the Madison Bobcats will take on the Mountain View Mavericks at 12:00 tomorrow at Ridgevue High School.
“We got to get a win tomorrow, we still have an opportunity ahead of us to get a trophy,” coach Humpherys said.
The Madison Bobcats will be playing their last game of the season and if they win they will take third place in the state of Idaho.
Next season the Madison Bobcats will have everyone returning except senior Daxton Webb.
The question we are all wondering is will the Bobcats bring home a trophy for third place.
