The year is coming to a close, and so comes one of the most anticipated events of the year. Spotify Wrapped goes over the whole year in music, specifically curated for the owner of the account. It shows top songs, artists, genres, and includes many interesting statistics about your listening history.

“It was pretty cool to see how much my music taste has changed this year because I don’t listen to [the bands] as much anymore,” Senior Kierra Park said. “I like the variety in music…it was all over the place from country to metal

core!”

But not everyone’s rewind was quite as predictable.

“I was surprised that my number two artist was Mapache because I only started listening to them in September,” Senior Bridget Ross said.

Spotify also has this feature for Artists, to look at their total number of streams, listeners and more. MHS has many bands, those who have their songs on Spotify were able to utilize this Spotify Artist feature. One of these bands is the Hazel Paul Band, with Junior Hazel Paul.

“My favorite part is how I’m able to see the impact my music has had on other people…it’s a great way to set goals for the future too,” Paul said.

But Spotify isn’t the only music app to do this. Apple Music users were very jealous of this feature, so as it gained popularity, Apple Replay was added to their yearly traditions.

“I like seeing the statistics they give. It’s really cool to see that,” Park said.
