Madison vs Rocky

Story by: Dylan Foutz and Foster Jensen

The Madison Bobcats basketball team defeated the Rocky Mountains Grizzlies 67-41 on Wednesday afternoon. It was the first game in the Idaho State tournament for both teams.
The Bobcats got out to an early lead with help from Mason Downey who had eight points off the bench in the first quarter. “I just wanted to create a spark off the bench. I came in the game, got some good looks and my shots fell.” said Downey.

Rocky Mountain was expected to out rebound Madison with the help of 6-foot-9 Kolby Lee and 6-foot-10 Blair Moore. The Bobcats did a very good job boxing out and not allowing the Grizzly big guys to get rebounds. Madison out rebounded Rocky Mountain 13-9 in the first half.
Kolby Lee led all scores with 20 points (9-16 shooting) and Jaxon Edelmayer led Madison with 16 points (6-8 shooting).
With the win Madison advances to the semi-finals and will Play Borah High school, Thursday at 6:15 pm, at the Idaho Ford Center. The last time these two teams met Borah defeated Madison 61-40, but don’t expect that kind of game this time around. Madison is a totally different team and playing very good basketball.
