Camryn Stanford prepares to throw at a track meet in Jerome.

Sports are a big part of MHS students’ lives. With spring here we are kicking off six teams to get started on the 2022 season. For the seniors this will be their last season!

“I feel good about this season, it’s kinda like the last dance with me and my partner because it’s our senior year,” Senior Trey Skinner said.

We see a lot of different things in the spring sports. One of Madison’s most popular sport is track and field. We can spot our athletes practicing after school on our track and/or running down the road.

“Everyone is really nice! There’s a lot of stuff that you can do on track, it’s not just running,” exchange student Valentina Susanai said.

The spring sports consist of various types including: Track, Golf, Tennis, Softball, Baseball, AND rodeo. Not many students or teachers are aware of rodeo being a sport with a team.

“It can be kind of frustrating, Rodeo is pretty competitive,” Sophomore Jada Edstrom said.

Our athletes are working hard but appreciate a good audience to support them and represent the school.

“It’s way more fun when there are more people because everyone is cheering,” Edstrom said.
