There is many clubs at MHS and the ukulele club is one of them. They meet in Mrs. Miller’s room every week on Wednesday during lunch to play the ukulele and have fun talking and singing. It varies per week but usually, there are about 20 people who come.

“It’s a student led club and it’s super fun, I mean for me, I feel like it’s a way I’ve been able to meet and talk to people I don’t normally talk to, and sure you play ukulele and you learn a bit from that, but I’ve just enjoyed the social aspect of it,” Junior Emily Curtis said.

This is the first year doing the ukulele club. The president of the club, senior, Josh Clark has a few reasons for starting the club.

“Everybody is involved in the club. It doesn’t matter what their skill levels are, everybody comes and they learned and they have fun. I started the club mostly because my friend just started playing the ukulele and we said there’s a lot people that are interested, so we just wanted to start teaching people,” Clark said.

They took field trip few weeks ago for a service project with which, they performed at the nursing home in Idaho Falls.

“The trip was cool, we sang at the retirement home before they had a dinner. It seemed like they liked it and they were happier. It was fun trip for us because we got to be together and it was the thing that we did something nice for other people,” Senior, Rebecca Neal said.
