This year, with it being on May 5th, the MHS Junior student council members decided to make it a Cinco De Mayo theme, which is unlike any other prom at MHS in the past.

A lot of people have been curious how they came up with the Cinco De Mayo as this year’s prom theme.

“About two months ago, when we got the day for prom, we realized that it was the same day as Cinco De Mayo. Mr. Parker gave us the idea and we thought it would be fun and different,” Junior Sarah Gentile said.

With prom coming up in just a few weeks, the prom decorations have been coming together and getting some of the major details taken care of to make students, and especially the seniors, have a great time at prom.

“It’s going really good. We are getting the decorations together and have met the DJ,” Gentile said

In the past, students have been a little disappointed in past DJ selection. The music is the most important part of a dance, so the better the DJ is, the better the dance is.

“The DJ is booked, he’s good. It’s gonna be fun. I know that the DJ’s production makes or breaks the dance. It’ll be good,” Mr. Lambson said.
