MHS varsity boys basketball team is about to take on districts. They have had both victories and losses along their journey but believe they will end this year well.

“Just staying focused, keeping our win streaks, and coming back after tough losses. We have confidence we can win Districts but it will still be tough,” Senior Joseph Dougherty.

The girls varsity basketball team has already started districts and are looking forward to what they hope will be a good turnout. They also had some wins and losses throughout their season but are staying positive.

“We have had some rocky roads but we are at districts right now and we won our first game. Districts is what really matters so the season is behind us and we are just trying to step forward with a clear path,” Senior Hannah Wilson said.

This will be the first year MHS has with a new boys basketball coach. They believe they have gotten better throughout the year and are improving as a team.

“We have been playing together as a team and our defense has really improved. Right now we need to be playing our best basketball which I think we are doing so I think we should be doing good in districts. I think we have a chance to go to state. It would be really awesome because It’s Coach Schwab’s first year and we could prove people wrong that he is a good coach and we did good as a team,” Senior Cameron Webster said.
