The drama department has been working on the musical Oklahoma! The cast first auditioned in May and have now put in countless hours of practice for the viewing pleasure of the audience.

“The cast auditioned in May for this play and we started practice the day the students came back to school. We go 2 hours every night, and 5 saturday practices. For the last week and a half we have been doing 3 hour practices,” Mr Hibbard said.

The play has a lot going on, but that is to be expected, when you have 2 love triangles happening.

“The story is actually about 2 couples, Curly with Laurey and Will with Ado Annie. It is basically 2 love triangles. Curly and Laurey love each other but then Jud comes into the picture. Ado Annie likes Will but then Ali Hakim comes into the picture. So Oklahoma is the ups and downs of these romantic relationships,” Mr Hibbard said.

The cast has really enjoyed working on Oklahoma. Through the ups and downs it has been an amazing experience for them.

“It has been a lot of fun. It’s been an amazing experience to learn and grow with the others and I made a lot of new friends this year,” Senior Eleanor Schmid (Aunt Eller) said.

Even with a few mistakes the cast continued their performance because “the show must go on.”

“There were a few little mess ups but other than that it was amazing. The audience loved it, and we had lots of fun doing it,” Junior Henry Christopherson (Curly) said.
